About this location
From April 2024, the port of Montrose will offer shore power at two berths. The shore power system is built according to the public available specification for low voltage shore power connections IEC 80005-3, with a total capacity of 1,600 kVA. Each supply pit will have a maximum capacity of 800 kVA, offering both 400V, 440V and 690V at 50 or 60 Hz. The shore power service is operated by Plug Montrose Ltd.
Plug Montrose Ltd. is a joint venture owned 50/50 by Montrose Port Authority & Plug Shore Power Ltd.
Shore power from Plug comes with Renewable Energy Guarantees of Origin (REGO) and is 100% renewable. This guarantees that the electricity originates solely from sustainable sources such as hydro and wind power.
